Celebrating music, our little imperfections and supporting positive mental health
Being busy musicians, it’s so easy to let our headspace fill up with daily practice, performances, exams, sound production, interpretation and musical story telling; that when daily life and its many distractions eventually find a way in, often the feeling of being overwhelmed starts to take over. For many, the feeling of stress at pending performances, exams and study deadlines - if left unchecked - can have the potential to turn into a more serious anxiety; possibly needing professional help. What do you do when you get this feeling of being overwhelmed? Hide? Do you push those feelings aside and plough on regardless, knowing that they will probably come back harder when they do?
There has been so much written about ‘Wellness’, ‘Mindfulness’ and ‘Meditation’ that we wanted to take away any perception you may have, by creating a website to enable you to dip in and out whenever you want some ‘me time’. All it will take is as little as 10 minutes to recharge your inner batteries.
Imagine what ‘Happy Flutists’ we would be, if we spent as much time re-charging ourselves as we do our mobile phones.
If you think you’re too busy to give yourself 10 mins, then think again…
Are other people, situations and everyday busyness more important than yourself?
Many will complain that they don’t have enough time in a day to relax, workout and have any ‘me time’ and yet they can often be found spending time scrolling through their feed on social media. Does looking at other people and their online lives make you feel complete and happy? By releasing the scrolling finger and finding small spaces of between 5 -10 minutes, you can begin the process of inner re-charge.
Jump in and immerse yourself in one of the free sessions based around how you are feeling, and what you may need at this very moment. There is no sign-up needed, fee payable, or charges for you to access anything here, because we at Trevor James Flutes are all musicians, and understand the need for a little mindfulness in this fast world of flute playing.
So how does this work?
